Indonesia’s population is 86% Muslim. But a generation of Christian young people is rising up with a heart for their nation and a burning passion to serve Christ.
CBN Indonesia is on the frontlines of this movement. Their popular TV program OneCubed.tv continues to provide a positive outlet for Indonesia’s younger generation by going beyond the bounds of a weekly program to developing discipleship focused websites and hosting live events.
1,600 students in West Java
During a Boy Scout Jamboree for 1,600 junior high school students, the OneCubed.tv booth served as an arena for creativity and artistic expression. The students were challenged to show their creativity and talent in the fields of traditional and modern art, as well as explore their interests in technology and media. Students had the opportunity to see the CBN video production crew in action and took turns singing, dancing and creating artwork in front of the cameras.
The OneCubed.tv producers and crew are dedicated to inspiring children to realize their purpose and destiny in Christ while exploring their creative gifts and talents. Though unspoken in the free flowing fun of the activity booth, these lessons were not lost on the students:
“This Jamboree is more interesting with OneCubed.tv here, they helped us develop and improve our talent,” said Vito.
“They encouraged us to think creatively and develop new ideas,” beamed Rosin.
5,000 young people in Surabaya
The Onecubed.tv team and the Army of God Church in Surabaya hosted an event on the influence of media called “Fighting Your Giants.” 5,000 young people gathered at a local super mall as the OneCubed.tv hosts performed a live, comical retelling of the epic fight between David and Goliath. Later, Mark McClendon, Director of CBN Indonesia, addressed the group encouraging them to guard against anything that would threaten their potential. The young people learned that they can overcome fear and have confidence in a God who does not look down upon their age, experience or status, but wants to use them to bless others and bring about positive change in their nation.
Hundreds of young people answered the call to dedicate their lives to Christ and renew their commitment to serve Him with their gifts and talents.
Please join us in praying for this generation. Each year thousands of children and young adults around the world come to know Jesus through CBN TV programs and outreaches. When you give to CBN you are truly making a difference in many young lives. Become a partner today.
