Center Overview

In 1994, Gordon Robertson established CBN Asia in the Philippines. Since then, CBN Asia has grown into a multi-faceted and cutting-edge ministry, sharing the love of God in Asia through mass media, humanitarian outreaches, and telephone prayer centers.

The 700 Club Asia, the Philippine center’s flagship program, has drawn millions of viewers nationwide and abroad on the strength of its theme, “Bringing God’s Miracles Into Your Home.” It showcases true-to-life stories of people dramatically changed by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ as Healer, Provider, Peacemaker, Counselor, and Miracle-working God.

The prayer center ministers to people one-on-one in their time of need through its 24-hour telephone prayer line. The center’s team of trained staff provide encouragement, comfort, Bible-based counsel, prayer, and a sympathetic ear to callers with various concerns. The center also reaches out to people in need via email and text messaging (SMS). To provide long-term nurturing and support, the center refers callers for after-care to a network of partner churches in Metro Manila and the provinces. Since its inception, the center has ministered through more than 800,000 calls, 100,000 emails/letters, and 2 million text messages resulting in more than 200,000 salvations (2010).

Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, was established in 1996 to demonstrate Christ’s love in action through short-term medical missions, disaster relief, and long-term community development assistance. Operation Blessing has launched medical missions, disaster relief operations, child feeding and education programs, community feeding initiatives, and other types of outreaches that have benefited millions of needy and distressed individuals. It has extended various forms of aid to hundreds of thousands in critical need – many in war-torn, rebel-infested areas of the country. For its daring outreaches to the poorest-of-the poor in Basilan, Sulu, Marawi, Maguindanao, Lanao, Tawi-Tawi, Negros and other battle-scarred provinces, Operation Blessing was recognized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines as “NGO of the Year for Peace Efforts” for two consecutive years, 2002 and 2003. OB has also launched or taken part in medical missions to war and poverty-stricken communities such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, China, and India.
