CBN.com - Wendy Griffith reports on a wide range
of issues for CBN News and its Christian World News division. She also co-anchors
Christian World News which airs on Friday evenings in the United States on
the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
After a year as CBN's Congressional Correspondent on Capitol Hill, Wendy
moved to the Virginia Beach Headquarters to concentrate on stories with a
more spiritual emphasis. Wendy has traveled internationally covering stories
like Billy Graham's Amsterdam 2000 Conference and the spiritual revival among
the youth in England.
She began her television career at NBC affiliate KYEL-TV in Yuma, Arizona
in 1987 after graduating from West Virginia University in 1986 with a B.S.
in Journalism. She then went on to work in several television markets across
the country as an anchor/reporter, including: NBC affiliate WCYB-TV in Bristol,
Virginia; ABC affiliate WCHS-TV in Charleston, West Virginia; and NBC affiliate
WTVO-TV in Rockford, Illinois.
While in Rockford, Wendy traveled to Russia for a special report on "Life
after Communism" and the spiritual freedom many Russians are now able to
enjoy. After nearly two years in Rockford, she returned to Charleston, her
hometown and West Virginia's capitol city, to co-anchor the 5 p.m. and 11
p.m. newscasts for WCHS-TV.
Her position there opened the door to an opportunity to serve as press
secretary and later special events coordinator to West Virginia Governor
Cecil H. Underwood and First Lady Hovah Underwood. Her first week on the
job was a "trial by flood" as West Virginia was declared a federal disaster
area after massive flooding hit the Mountain State. Wendy and Governor Underwood
spent a week assessing the damage by helicopter and talking to victims and
reporters on the ground.
When not reporting, Wendy enjoys outdoor sports including hiking, skiing,
and mountain biking.
A caring friend will be there to pray with you in your time of need.
