Pakistan Bans 11 Christian TV Stations

Pakistan has launched a new round of attacks against Christians by banning many pro-Christian television shows in the country.

Pakistan is home to some 2.8 million Christians, a small percentage in the predominately Muslim nation. All of them are under the constant threat of persecution and blasphemy charges -- a crime that could mean death.

But when the government is not literally threatening the lives of Christians, they are waging war through the manipulation of laws, like censoring Christian television.

Father Morris Jalal, founder of Catholic TV, a network that is now banned, says the newest measure is a blatant example of persecution.

"As citizens, Christians have the right to practice their religion, but if they block you, it means not all citizens are equal," he told Express News.

Jalal is calling on the West to do something about the persecution.

"We must protest this decision, and we hope the West does it as well," he said.
