Bibles for China wants every Chinese home to have a Bible. The organization believes the Chinese New Year will bring more opportunities to share the gospel.

"Bibles for China is really happy this year because we believe there's a lot of homes where families will be together that, for the first time, these homes have a Bible," said Wendell Rovenstine of Bibles for China.

China's hard-line Communist government makes it hard for many Christians to own or even hold a Bible.

However, Bibles for China believes all their efforts to distribute the word of God over the last year are not in vain.

"There will be families that come home this year during the Chinese New Year and as they all get together to make dumplings and serve dumplings at the end of the festival, before the children and the families leave to go home, God's Word will have been there."

The organization says this upcoming year will be a year of equipping. The church is growing despite China's hostile government, and needs leaders to nurture the country's Christian population.

One of the things we're going to be doing in 2017 is we hear from the Chinese leaders that we work with, 'We have a great need for leadership training materials,'" said Rovenstine.

Bibles for China is also praying for even more redeemed lives in 2017 than any year before.
