Iran is vowing to strengthen its military, and the Islamic regime displayed a banner calling for the annihilation of Tel Aviv and Haifa after the U.S. made a deal to give aid to Israel.

Iran's Chief of Staff Gen. Mohammad Hossein Bagheri made the comments during an Iranian military parade in Tehran.

"The recent action by the criminal America to sign a deal and offer an aid package to the Zionist regime is a useless attempt to guarantee the flimsy security of this (Israel's) regime," Bagheri said.

Last week, the U.S. signed a new security agreement with Israel to give the Israeli military $38 billion over 10 years.

Iran does not recognize Israel's right to exist, and supports anti-Israeli terrorist groups like Palestinian Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

During a separate parade Wednesday in the southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, Iran unveiled a new missile, known as Zolfaghar.

It was carried by a military truck which bore a banner printed with a 2013 anti-Israeli quote by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei saying Iran will annihilate the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa should Israel attack Iran.

Zolfaghar is the name of the sword used by Imam Ali, a cousin of the Prophet Mohammed and his successor according to Shiite belief.

Tasnim, the semi-official news agency, which is close to Iran's hard-line Revolutionary Guard, said the missile is a "long range ballistic" with a cluster warhead.

The semi-official ISNA news agency later said the solid-fuel missile had a range of 435 miles.
