A new Christian pro-life film is gaining attention and receiving prestigious awards even before its official release in October.

"Voiceless" is a new film that addresses the injustice of abortion and seeks to motivate the church to take an active role in the fight for human life.

Actor Rusty Joiner plays Jesse Dean, a discharged solider who notices an abortion clinic across the street from his church.

In the film, Jesse struggles to motivate his church to get involved in fighting against the abortion organization. He is later faced with a tough decision that will cost him everything.

"We're using the pro-life message as a strong example in the film with the abortion clinic being across the street from a church and our main character trying to take a stand against that," writer and director Pat Necerato told One News Now.

The film has already received three awards at secular film festivals including "Best Feature" at the Northeast Film Festival, "Best Feature Film" at the California Independent Film Festival, and the People's Choice "Best Feature Film," The Christian Times reports.

Despite its growing accolades the filmmakers' key hope for "Voiceless" is to motivate the church to become more active in reaching out to pregnant women who are considering an abortion.

"'Voiceless' is the first pro-life film that powerfully addresses the reasons why most people don't engage the injustice of abortion. This film is brilliantly designed to inspire the church to action," Joe Baker, CEO Save The Storks, said.

"It's real but it's attractive and is the one-two knockout punch to Planned Parenthood," Jason Jones, executive producer for the film, said.

"Voiceless" will open in select theaters on Oct. 7.
