'Not a Defender of Iran in the Room': World Powers Determined to Stop Iranian Regime

JERUSALEM, Israel – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wrapped up the Middle East security conference in Poland saying that the US is determined to convince all nations of the need to deprive the Iranian regime of the money to fuel what he called the "world's largest state sponsor of terror."

Some 60 nations including Israel and 10 Arab states joined the conference. At a final press conference, Pompeo said there was unity on Iran.

"There was not a defender of Iran in the room. No country, no country spoke out and denied any of the basic facts that we all had laid out about Iran – the threat it poses, the nature of the regime. It was unanimous. Countries from Europe, countries from Asia, countries from all across the world. No one spoke up saying that the data set about the threat that Iran poses in the Middle East is in any way wrong or overhyped," he said.

The US-led conference took place while Iran celebrated the 40th anniversary of its Islamic revolution.

"You can't achieve peace and stability in the Middle East without confronting Iran," Pompeo said during the conference. "It's just not possible.  Their malign influence in Lebanon, in Yemen, in Syria and Iraq."

Just this week Iran threatened to level Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded that would be the end of the Islamic Republic if it attempted to attack Israel.

"I do not ignore the threats of the Iranian regime, but neither am I intimidated by them. If this regime makes the awful mistake of trying to destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa, it will not succeed. However, this would be the last anniversary of the revolution that they celebrate. They should take this into account," Netanyahu said.

Iran at first dismissed the conference, but when a deadly terror attacked killed dozens of Iran's revolutionary guards, the regime suggested that the world powers were behind it.

"Is it no coincidence that Iran is hit by terror on the very day that (the) Warsaw Circus begins?" Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said

Netanyahu said the conference marked a first with Israel standing alongside its Arab neighbors in the Middle East.

"Yesterday was a historical turning point.  In a room of some sixty foreign ministers and representatives of dozens of governments, an Israeli Prime Minister and foreign ministers of leading Arab countries stood together with unusual force, clarity and unity against the common threat of the Iranian regime," Netanyahu said.

Those attending the conference in Poland want to stop Iran's expansion in the Middle East and blunt the leading sponsor of terror in the world.
