Superheroes Cheering Up Sick Children Around the World
Window washers from Brazil to New York are dressing up as superheroes to cheer up sick children from their hospital room windows.
When they look outside their hospital room windows they see superman, spiderman, and batman waving back at them.
Jacqueline Maranhao, who lives in Brazil, says the special visits lifted her daughter's spirits during treatment.
"She was happy and got up to look and that was very good," Maranhao told Reuters. "When they are sick, they are a little down, quiet, so this helps them have fun."
The same superhero phenomenon is happening in New York too. Dozens of sick children got special visits Wednesday from their favorite heroes.
Social media lit up with pictures and sightings of the window washers.
The visit are not just warming children's hearts, but the superhero window washers' hearts too.
Matt McGhee and his crew have been washing the windows of St. Louis Children Hospital dressed as superheroes for more than a year. For him, the look on the children's' faces brings him joy.

"It's just for the kids," McGehee said. "The kids look up, and their eyes get all big, and then this slow smile creeps across their face."
