As outrage continues to surround the recent shooting deaths of black men at the hands of white police officers, one man's interaction with an Ohio police officer is going viral, and it's for a good reason.

Indiana native Mark Ross was devastated to hear about the loss of his 15-year old sister, who died in a car wreck last Sunday.

He immediately began making plans to get to his family in Detroit and attend his sister's funeral, but did not have transportation.

He was able to convince a friend to drive him the 250 miles, although he had a suspended license. During the trip, Ross and his friend were stopped by Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Robison for speeding.

Ross' friend was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license and the vehicle was towed. Ross also explained in a Facebook post that he had an outstanding misdemeanor in Wayne's County, Michigan, and assumed he would be arrested.

However, officers in Michigan refused to come get him because of the distance. Ross said he would have been stranded if it was not for Officer Robison's kindness.

"I explained to the officer that my sister had died and that I needed to get to my mother asap," he wrote on his Faceboook post that has received more than a million views. "I broke down crying and he saw the sincerity in my cry. He reaches over and began praying over me and my family."

Officer Robison drove Ross the 100 remaining miles to Detroit and even promised to attend the funeral.

"It was just so overwhelming," Ross told Inside Edition. "They were trying to help us."

Ross admits that he used to have a hard time with police officers but Robison's generosity has changed his heart.

"Everybody knows how much I dislike cops but I am truly Greatful (sic) for this Guy," he wrote. "He gave me hope."
