Officials in Virginia have reversed building safety codes for abortion clinics that required the clinics to follow hospital-like outpatient standards.

Mistakes during abortion procedures can put women's lives at risk. The regulations were enacted under former Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell.

But pro-abortion groups opposed the rules, complaining they were too expensive for abortion businesses.

Consequently, Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe filled Virginia's Board of Health with his own appointees, who then overturned the regulations.
