New reports suggest Belgian police knew for years the Paris attackers were planning an "irreversible act."

According to a police watchdog's report shared by Politico, Brahim and Salah Abdeslam intended to carry out an attack as early as 2014.

The anti-terror unit argued it could not file a report on the brothers, who lived in the Molenbeek neighborhood of Brussels, because they were not certain which one was involved.

But the watchdog report questions that argument, stating the names of both Abdeslam brothers were already in the database.

Brahim blew himself during the November Paris attacks that killed 130 people. His brother, Salah, fled to Belgium and was apprehended four days before the Brussels terrorist attack.

On Wednesday, Belgium extradited Salah to France to face prosecution.
