Amid Rescue and Relief, Makeshift Cross a Sign of Faith in Italy

Rescue workers in central Italy are still searching for more victims of last Wednesday's devastating earthquake.

At least 290 are known dead after six more bodies were found in the last few days. Much of the town of Amatrice and two other Medieval towns have been reduced to rubble.

Sunday, Catholics in the badly hit town of Arquata del Tronto held a mass for survivors in a large tent under a makeshift cross, built out of two firefighter ladders and the helmets of rescue workers.

This weekend, Italy for Christ pointed out some good news, that more than 215 people have been saved from the ruins.

But 2,500 people no longer have a home. CBN Disaster Relief is partnering with Italy for Christ to bring humanitarian aid to the region.

They're providing shelter, beds, blankets, food and water for some of the victims.
