'Miracle Baby' Saved after Mother Hit by Airstrike

Syria's people are struggling to survive, but one baby defeated the odds after his mother was hit by an airstrike in Aleppo that killed 45 and left dozens wounded.

Mayissa was nine months pregnant when she was hit by the airstrike, she ended up losing her leg as well as her arm. 

Doctors decided to perform an emergency caesarean section, but their worst fears were confirmed when the baby was not breathing.

After trying to revive the baby and helping him breath, he let out a small cry letting the doctors know he was alive and well.

The doctor can be heard saying, "he just needs oxygen."

The mother and baby are reportedly doing well.

His tragic appearance drew international attention to Syria's civil war and how it is taking its toll on the innocent.

Thousands of children are killed daily in Syria and the country has been left devastated. It is reported that 470,000 people have been killed so far during the Syrian war.
