Syrian children are using the new sensation "Pokemon Go" to bring attention to their country's conflict, according a Christian Post article

The pictures of the children holding images of Pokemon characters speak to their pleas.

Activists are posting the pictures of the children on Facebook with the drawings in their hands with a message that says, "Come and save me."

One of the pictures reads, "I'm from Kafr Nabl in Idlib province. Come and save me."

According to the Christian Post, tens of thousands have shared the pictures on Facebook.

"We want to raise awareness and draw attention to the plight of Syrian children in besieged areas and the suffering of Syrian people who are attacked and killed by the Assad regime and its allies," a Turkey-based spokesperson of the RFA Media Office said.

"Syrian children are victims of the war and the brutal and indiscriminate attacks that are carried out on a daily basis by regime and Russian jets. The Syrian children are paying the price for the international inaction to stop the Assad killing machine," the RFA Office spokesperson said.

The United Nations Children's fund recently called for an end to violence against Syrian children. It recently made the statement that, "The killing, abduction, and arrest of students and teachers has become commonplace, as have arbitrary attacks on schools."

20 children recently died in the city of Manbij during air strikes, where a video surfaced of a 12-year-old boy being killed in Aleppo.

According to UNICEF there are 35,000 children trapped in the Manjib region, and the United Nations reports there are 4.5 million Syrians trapped in the country with barely any supplies.
