North Korean Missile Failure Is Latest Sign of Provocation

A new missile test by North Korea appears to have ended in failure, according to the South Korean government.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports the mid-range missile exploded Tuesday at a mobile launch pad as soon as the launch button was pushed.

If confirmed, that would make this the fourth failed missile launch by the communist regime. The new missile is believed to have the potential to reach U.S. military bases in Asia and the Pacific.

Despite the recent failures, North Korea's escalating provocations this year have become a growing cause for concern.

In January, the regime conducted a nuclear test, followed by a long-range rocket test in February, which outsiders believe to be a violation of a ban on long-range missile technology.
