CAIR’s
Alleged Ties to Terror
The Council on American-Islamic Relations is in the midst
of a potentially embarrassing
defamation suit that it filed against Andrew Whitehead
of Anti-CAIR. Anti-CAIR
is well, anti-CAIR, and accuses America’s most vocal
Islamic organization of ties to terror, something a lot
of people have done.
But terror expert Dan
Pipes points out that CAIR’s attempt to silence
the Web site through litigation seems to have backfired,
if only partially. On June 20, CAIR filed an amended motion
that reduced the libel claims to just two of the original
six. They are that “CAIR is a terrorist supporting
front organization…and that CAIR seeks to overthrow
constitutional government in the United States”…
Of course, the amended
motion implies that Whitehead has the goods to back
up his claims, and that the claims which were tossed are
provable in court. And they are:
[CAIR is an] organization founded
by Hamas supporters….CAIR was started by Hamas members….
CAIR … was founded by Islamic terrorists.
This will be a fascinating case to watch.
