Saudi Muslim Males Coming to U.S. Universities Near You....

At a conference yesterday in Tehran titled, tellingly, "A World Without Zionism," Iran's new president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, called for Israel to be "wiped off the face of the earth." Gee, tell us how you really feel, Mahmoud. Now, it's tough to top that statement in terms of sheer spine-tingling menace. But a piece of news out of Saudi Arabia this week may do just that. According to the London-based Arabic newspaper, Asharq Al-Awsat, thousands of young Saudi Muslim males will be landing on America's shores over the next few years. And they're coming to a university near you:

More than 10,000 Saudi students will travel to the U.S. to attend university as part of a government-sponsored program following the adoption of new measures by the Ministry of Higher Education aimed at facilitating travel procedures for Saudis. In total, 21,000 Saudis are expected to take part in the program in the next four years.

Yes, that's the same Saudi Arabia that produced 15 of the 19 September 11th hijackers--and which continues to export the radical Wahhabi ideology, which has inspired terrorists from Indonesia to Italy to New York City. If my memory serves me correctly, most of the 9/11 hijackers were, well, college-aged Saudis. And now at least 21,000 more college-aged Saudis are due to arrive on American soil in the next four years. Call me crazy, but in a time when we are locked in a mortal struggle against radical IsIam, shouldn't we be discouraging Muslim immigration to our shores, rather than opening the door wide open to it? The Bush adminsitration has some explaining to do here about its latest joint partnership with our Saudi "friends."
