For those of you who heard, read, or saw Pat Robertson’s comments on Islam Monday on The 700 Club following a news story by our CBN news reporter, Dale Hurd, I offer the following.  The issue here is not Pat Robertson.

These “radical Islamic fanatics,” are not joy boys. Time magazine (March 6/2006) in an article, An Eye for an Eye, refers to this element as “violent, shocking, brutal, and rooted in murderous rage”; and that the “U.S. may be powerless to stop them."

Pat Robertson, says he believes that “it is motivated by demonic power, it is satanic and it is time we recognize what we are dealing with,"

Allow me to put that in a Biblical context. (Not that Pat needs me to defend him.)

Paul the Apostle states that, “We are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6.12)

The Apostle Paul then goes on to instruct us on how to be armed and “wage the warfare.” And, for the Christian, it’s not “an eye for an eye” with hand grenades, tanks, M16 rifles, or rockets.  It is “prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit.” And that makes the Christian dangerous where it really counts!
