Shok has been interested in music since he can remember. He would play drums, congas, listen to music constantly and borrow his dad’s recorder to record sounds any chance he got.
At 18 he received a settlement of $3,500 from an accident. He used it to buy a pre-production studio. In the basement of his parents' home he recorded, produced and put out independent records such as Hi-Tech 24/7, an underground hit selling about 10,000 vinyl and taking him to perform as far as Bucharesti, Romania and out of the basement into a private studio.
He signed on with the Ruff Ryders just before they released DMX’s first album. It was too late to get any music on there, but he was able to get one song on the second album. The Song was “Slippin.” It was the first single and was a huge success. He went on to produce about 19 commercially released songs during the four-year contract period. All of them sold a total of over 13 million units combined. Three of them were singles and most were played in the mix. He made a name for himself in Hip Hop as a producer.
Although he appreciated all that comes with these achievements he was shocked to realize that success did not fill the void he had inside. After this at the age of 28, he began to look for something more. He turned to the Lord like he had never before. He realized that everything under the sun was darkness, and he wanted the Lord to show him the light.
He asked for the Lord to rebuild his life. He is now releasing an album titled The Lost Truth where he is writing, producing, rapping and mixing with the Lord’s guidance. He now seeks the Lord's blessing. The book of Proverbs 10:22. “The Blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
