CBN.comNASHVILLE, TN….(9/21/06) ……After selling over 25 million albums worldwide, winning numerous GRAMMY® Awards and countless other career milestones, Amy Grant has added a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to her list of career accolades.  With friends, family, industry VIPs and fans in attendance, Grant’s husband/country music star Vince Gill and founder of A&M Records Jerry Moss spoke at the September 19th ceremony, along with Johnny Grant, Honorary Mayor of Hollywood and Walk of Fame Chairman.  Grant’s Star is located on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Virgin Records store, next to John Travolta and movie legend Buster Crabbe’s Stars, and also just down the sidewalk from Billy Graham’s star.

Upon her acceptance of the honor, Grant commented, ”I see all my family, co-workers and friends and I have to say, nothing happens alone.  Life is like a massive vessel, you don’t sail alone……It’s been an exciting ride!  Thank you.”

The fall has been quite busy for Grant as she releases her first live recording in 25 years with TIME AGAIN…AMY GRANT LIVE on September 26th, and is currently conducting a Symphony tour, performing with local symphonies in markets including Atlanta, Minneapolis, Kansas City and more.  During her Nashville tour stop on September 10th, Nashville Symphony President and CEO Alan Valentine surprised Amy with an announcement that the stage of the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center was being named the Amy Grant Performance Platform, in recognition of her generosity to the symphony.  She helped the symphony overcome bankruptcy in the 1980s and continues to be a longtime supporter. Grant was host to the second evening in three opening weekend galas for the Nashville Symphony’s new home, Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Among her guests were her husband, Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes and Michael W. Smith

Along with an upcoming October 10th appearance on The View to promote TIME AGAIN…AMY GRANT LIVE, Grant will also film a national Christmas special to air on NBC this December with star figure skaters including Kristy Yamaguchi.  Additionally, Amy Grant's hit song, “Baby, Baby” is currently included in a line of more than 200 song cards from Hallmark that, when opened, play music from original recording artists. Unlike any other cards in the market today, Hallmark sound cards feature CD-quality recordings of original music and sound clips. Each clip plays 15-45 seconds when the card is opened, and stops when the card is closed. “Baby, Baby” was chosen for use in a love card, the front   cover says "You & Me..." inside the card reads "we're good together" and plays a clip from the song.
