Happy 50th Birthday, Osama!

Osama Bin Laden turns 50 tomorrow, Saturday March 10, 2007.

According to an article in an arabic newspaper, the terror master-mind won't be throwing a big bash.
In an interview with the Londan-based daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Egyptian terror expert Dr. Hani al-Sebai says bin Laden and his deputy Ayman Al-Zawahiri did not celebrate birthdays.
Under Sharia law, which is a strict interpretation of Islamic law, birthday's are considered a Western concept and therefore forbidden in Islam.
Sebai, a former radical Islamic activist who reportedly spent time in a Cairo jail with Zawahri, wrote:
"The fugitive leader of the al-Qaeda terror network will not be celebrating his 50th birthday on Saturday. That's because Muslim fundamentalists brand such festivities as 'Bida' (innovation in Arabic), a custom alien to Islamic culture, and, in this case a Western contamination. Neither bin-Laden nor Ayman al-Zawahiri celebrate their birthdays. The Western media is making a lot of fuss regarding bin-Laden's 50th birthday, even suggesting that the al-Qaeda leader may be prompted to break his long silence, perhaps through a video message."

Absolutely brilliant.
I love the birthday candles on the cake!
