CBNNews.com - Some conservatives may call him the Terminator of Christian values in the schools.

After California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law this weekend making it mandatory for public schools to incorporate curricula that teaches homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality in a positive light, prominent pro-family organizations pledged Tuesday to overturn the measure.

California Family Council said it will try to defeat the new legislation before it has the chance to detrimentally influence children and their families.

"Apparently, the governor now feels the freedom to favor the pro-homosexual message and to disregard conservative voters and traditional values," said CFC's chief executive officer, Ron Prentice.

A leader of another well-known traditional values group called on California's parents to take action.

"We're calling upon every California parent to pull their child out of California's public school system," said Campaign for Children and Families President Randy Thomasson. "The so-called 'public schools' are no longer a safe environment for children. Under the new law, schoolchildren as young as kindergarten will be sexually indoctrinated and introduced to homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality, over the protests of parents, teachers and even school districts."

SB 777, known as the California Student Civil Rights Act, is said by the homosexual advocacy group Equality California to protect students "from harassment and bullying in public schools by making sure teachers and school administrators fully understand their responsibilities to protect youth."

However, the motivation behind this new legislation is believed to have little to do with protection, as Thomasson calls the measure nothing short of "sexual indoctrination."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," Thomasson said. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms."

The new bill could have many far-reaching effects.

"SB 777 will result in reverse discrimination against students with religious and traditional family values," said the legislative liaison of Capitol Resource Institute, Meredith Turney. "The terms 'mom and dad' or 'husband and wife' could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured. Parents want the assurance that when their children go to school, they will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic -- not social indoctrination regarding alternative lifestyles."

With the aggressiveness of this bill, many might be led to believe that homosexuality is ridiculed in public school curricula, but this is not the case.

"Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB 777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school," said Thomasson. "Otherwise, 'discriminatory' schools will be subject to intimidation and lawsuits by the State Department of Education."

The other bill signed by Schwarzenegger, the Civil Rights Act of 2007, is a measure to ban discrimination on sexual orientation and gender identity in government services.

"It's the height of intolerance to punish individuals, organizations, businesses and churches that have moral standards on sexual conduct and sexual lifestyles," commented Thomasson, who noted that churches running state-funded social service programs could be affected by the measure. "This is another insensitive law that violates people's moral boundaries."
