Former American Idol contestant Chris Sligh has reached No. 8 on the Christian music charts.
"Empty Me" is the first single off Sligh's new album, "Running Back to You," which first made its way into the top 10, July 21.
Sligh says fans tell him all the time how the song has touched them.
In it, the 30-year-old sings, "Empty me of the selfishness inside. Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride. And any foolish thing my heart holds to. Lord empty me of me so I can be filled with you."
His next release from the album will be the single 'Arise.' Sligh says it is song inspired by a thought on how God's mercy is new every morning.
CBN News spoke with the singer about his song 'Empty Me', which he wrote, in part, after his experience on American Idol.
