On the 45th anniversary of Dr. King's historic "I Have a Dream" speech, Martin Luther King III said his father would be proud had he lived to see Barack Obama's Democratic nomination for president.
"I was thinking this morning ...that dad and mother are smiling and looking down on us, smiling at what is happening at this point," he said.
King spoke of an American that needed to work together to fully achieve the dream his dad envisioned. Speaking of Obama, he said, "Let us give our nation a leader who has heard this clarion call and will help us achieve the change."
King was among a list of celebrities and supporters that took the stage before Sen. Barack Obama's acceptance speech at INVESCO field in Denver, Thursday.
He was introduced by his sister Bernice.
