U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin briefly spoke on her own experiences with her special needs child and the honor of holding public office.
Like Gov. Sarah Palin's newborn son, Marin's son Eric, now 23, was born with Down Syndrome. Since Eric's birth, Marin has been very committed to serving people with disabilities.
"I know that I speak for the millions of families that have a child with a disability. Who would be better than Sarah Palin to understand the daily challenges of raising a family while holding a job, working on a career, or managing your own business," she said.
"Who better than her to understand our fears, our hopes, our dreams for all of our children? But especially those with developmental disabilities," Marin said.
