Chinese Takeout

The Chinese military continues to hack into the Pentagon’s computer network. But what’s more interesting is the White House response--none.

AFP, the French News Agency, quoted Alan Paller of the SANS Institute, as saying the attacks have been traced to the Chinese province of Guangdong, and the hacking has all the signs of an ongoing military operation.

The U.S. government strategy appears to be a tried and true one inside the Beltway: to think happy thoughts about China. Paller says that hasn’t helped. "…Our computer networks have been terribly and deeply penetrated throughout the United States ... and we've been keeping it secret," he’s quoted as saying in the AFP. “The people who benefit from keeping it secret are the attackers."

Hackers have already stolen U.S. military flight planning software from the Redstone Arsenal.

Perhaps the White House is thinking “Hey, what’s a little raping and pillaging of military secrets between friends?”

What is certainly no secret is that this “friend” is preparing for a war against us. And it’s in the process of stealing the intelligence necessary to win.
