Americans are less optimistic that President Obama's $787 billion stimulus package will boost the economy.

Only 52 percent believe the stimulus bill has or will help restore the economy compared to 59 percent two months ago, according to a Washington Post - ABC News poll.

The economy is expected to remain the top issue for the president, because of the drop in the stock market and rising unemployment in the months ahead.
