Meet the 'Rock Star of the Recession'
A tough economy has many Americans turning to coupons as a way to save money, with coupon usage up 20 percent from last year.
Through her Web site, CouponMom.com, Stephanie Wilson has shown millions of consumers how use coupons to save both time and money. The Washington Post dubbed her the "Rock Star of the Recession."
CBN News spoke with Wilson about what consumers can do to save money on groceries. Click play to watch the interview.
"Consumers are realizing that coupons are real money when the products they use are offered," Nelson said.
"Our coupons are for popular products from Kraft, Kellogg's, General Mills, Procter & Gamble and many other quality manufacturers. A family of four can easily save over $6,000 in a calendar year just by using our strategic shopping system and coupons," she said.
One mother managed to cut her grocery bill in half using the Web site, something Nelson says anybody can manage through "strategic shopping."
"Strategic shopping is not about changing the way you eat, it is about changing the way you buy the food that you like," Nelson said. "In many cases, shoppers can get free groceries when they use sales and coupons at supermarkets and drugstores."
