William Voegeli, author of the new book Never Enough: America's Limitless Welfare State, says the United states cannot sustain the amount of government spending taking place today.

Voegeli argues that liberals have insisted on more government involvement while conservatives have failed to contain their efforts.

He also warns that if Americans fail to speak clearly about the limits of the welfare state there will be grave policy consequences.
