The weak U.S. economy has prompted majority of small and medium-sized businesses to implement a hiring freeze, according to a new survey by Sage, a business management software company.
Sage, which surveyed 3.2 million of its clients, found that 77 percent of small businesses do not plan to hire new workers.
Only 7 percent think they will hire new employees.
The poll also shows 64 percent believe the United States is in a new recession now, or headed for one.
