The weak economy isn't stopping American workers from buying one of their favorite beverages -- coffee.
It's estimated that the average American consumes a little more than three cups of coffee a day.
In a recent survey, Accounting Principals, a business personnel firm, discovered Americans spend an average of $1,000 a year on coffee while on the job.
The survey also found that young adults, age 18 to 34, drink more coffee than older workers, age 45 and up.
Men also tend to spend more on coffee than women.
On an unrelated note, the survey found Americans spend nearly $2,000 a year on lunch.
