The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Focus on the Family ministry is broadening its focus to help families with financial problems.
The organization has announced it will partner with Crown Financial Ministries and Finicity to offer financial coaching to help people nationwide through a variety of ways, including iPhone and Android apps, as well as live chat support.
Crown and Finicity offer the co-branded Mvelopes system, which applies the principles of envelope budgeting to personal finances.
The company also offers its Crown MoneyLife Coaching, which combines envelope budgeting, the debt roll-down method of debt elimination, and powerful one-on-one coaching.
Rich Bennett, the vice president of ministry strategy for Focus on the Family, says this move comes because financial problems are hurting marriages, parenting, and the spiritual, mental and emotional health of parishioners.
"At Focus we hear from countless families who are struggling with significant personal debt and having difficulty living within their means. The numbers of those looking for help has especially increased during these trying economic times," Bennett said.
