Drivers have paid more at the gas pump in recent weeks, but still significantly less than they did during April's price hike.

Gas prices in the United States surged nearly 10 cents over the last two weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey of fuel prices on Sunday.

The national average for a gallon of regular gas is now $3.51. That's still 46 cents below the April 6 peak of $3.97.

Jackson, Miss., has the nation's lowest price at $3.18, while Long Island, N.Y., had the highest at $3.83.
