Starbucks Corp. is branching out from its trademark Frappuccinos and lattes to explore other revenue options.
The coffee giant recently purchased a little-known California juice brand called Evolution Fresh Inc., and opened its first store Monday in Bellevue, Wash.
Evolution Fresh targets customers who are concerned about their health. The store sells customized juice drinks mixed by employees, as well as wraps, soups, and salads.
Starbucks, which is based in Seattle, bought the company last November for $30 million.
Seattle's Best Coffee, another Starbucks brand, also opened a new coffee drive-thru in suburban Chicago, Monday.
Starbucks said the recent changes are to meet the needs of commuters, and also draw in customers who want a higher nutritional quality.
