Jobless Rate for Young Vets Remains High

Ad Feedback

The unemployment rate for younger veterans is among the highest in the nation.

More than 20 percent of veterans between the ages of 18-24 are out of work and the numbers for those 25-34 are also in the double-digits.

That's higher than the numbers for non-vets in the same age range and far higher than the national average.

An official with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said veterans must do a better job of explaining how skills gained in the military are useful in the workplace.
