Business Leaders Skeptical of US-China Summit

President Barack Obama will host a state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House this week.

The meeting comes as the Communist nation works to remake its sluggish economy and clean up its stifling air pollution.

China's president has spent much of the week in Washington state talking to clean energy firms about potential business relationships.

The administration says that when Xi visits the White House, Obama will be firm in his stand against China's cyber-attacks on the United States.

But some American business leaders say the president needs to get tough with China on lots of issues.

"We can't go on indefinitely handing over slices of our economy and expect to remain a world power and expect to have the industrial base to support our military and the wealth to have a decent and fair economy at home," Kevin L. Kearns, president of the U.S. Business and Industry Council, warned.

The White House state dinner is Friday.
