Depression, Diabetes May Be Linked

Ad Feedback

Scientists believe there's a link between diabetes and depression.

They followed a group of men and women for three years.

Those who had symptoms of depression were 40 percent more likely to develop diabetes, and patients already receiving treatment for diabetes had a 52 percent higher risk of developing depression.

Researchers say the stress of diabetes care is a contributing factor.

They also agree that poor lifestyle choices that lead to obesity can increase the risk of diabetes.
