It's official, marriage is good for you.
Tying the knot reduces the risks of depression and anxiety. That's according to one of the most comprehensive studies conducted on the subject.
Researchers surveyed more than 34,000 people in 15 countries over the past decade. Across the board, the survey shows that getting married is good for men and women.
On the flip side, the study shows that ending a marriage through divorce, separation or death increases mental health disorders.
Overall, though, the study shows the benefits of marriage regardless of your culture.
