Cow Flatulence Not Tied to Global Warming

Ad Feedback

Many people don't believe in global warming. But if you do, you can't blame Bessie the cow for it anymore.

Although, environmentalists have long argued that bovine flatulence was a major source of greenhouse gas, a new study shows that livestock could be good for the environment.

Research shows grazing cattle and sheep can cut emissions of nitrous oxide, a chemical compound some scientists consider to be a dangerous greenhouse gas.

So, it looks like farmers won't have to put plastic bags on the bovines' bottoms after all. And that should make all those California cows just a little happier.
