A museum in Kentucky that promotes biblical teaching about the origin of the universe says it reached the milestone of one million visitors on Monday.
The Answers in Genesis Creation Museum gave Dayton, Ohio visitor Joe Brown gift basket and a lifetime museum membership.
"We are grateful that God continues to bless this ministry with such strong attendance in a challenging economy," Genesis President Ken Ham said in a release Monday.
The facility, which opened in 2007 just outside of Petersburg, Ky., features exhibits declaring that thousands of years ago, God created the universe in six days.
The museum cost about $27 million to build. All of the funding was raised from private donations.
Ham says the facility "serves as an encouragement to Christians to stand unashamedly for their faith."
