Research suggests the older you get, the happier you become.
Live Science reports that mounting research suggests that aging is key to happiness.
Some reasons are that older adults are more optimistic with a positive outlook on life and get more respect, and they tend to look at the past through rose-colored glasses, reflecting on happy memories.
One study also says that aging makes a person more comfortable with themselves and their role in society. They also have more time to enjoy hobbies, travel, and do volunteer work.
Research from a 2006 issue of the journal Psychology and Aging suggests that as a person life expectancy declines, they may tend to focus on what makes them happy now rather than focusing on the negative.
