NOAA data released Friday confirmed global temperatures from January through July as being the warmest since 1880.

According the NOAA, last month ranked in the top 10 for the warmest July in every East Coast state from Maine to Florida. July 1998 took the top spot as the warmest on record.

The only states to average temperatures below normal for the month of July were Montana, Idaho, and Texas.
