The American Cancer Society is warning men that prostate exams may not be that helpful and may even do more harm than good.
It says prostate cancer screenings don't necessarily save lives, pointing out the PSA tests often detect non-deadly cancer that can lead to unnecessary biopsies and procedures that cause impotence.
They're advising doctors to discuss the pros and cons of PSA tests with patients and stop routinely giving rectal exams.
This report comes just months after the society warned women about the dangers of routine mammograms and pap smears.
