The first tropical storm of this year's hurricane season has taken shape in the Eastern Pacific.

Tropical Storm Adrian is about 345 miles south of Acapulco, Mexico. The storm is moving north-northwest away from land.

Adrian's winds have increased to about 70 mph are nearing hurricane strength.

Forecasters say the center is expected to remain offshore, but a shift could bring tropical storm conditions to the coast.
