Several health care providers are challenging North Carolina's controversial new abortion law.
Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit against the state.
They want to block the new law requiring women to have an ultrasound and wait 24 hours before having an abortion.
There are only two other states with such strict requirements.
A judge could stop the new law from taking effect by filing a temporary restraining order, or the issue may be heard in court.
