Married Couple Shares Kidney, Devotion to God

A life-threatening situation has proved to one North Carolina couple that they have a special connection to each other and God is the reason.

Brian McNeil says the Lord saved his life and he used his wife to do it.

The McNeils were high school sweethearts. They knew they were a perfect match ever since they were teenagers.

Ten years later, they learned that they were not only a good match for love, but they were also a kidney match.

That's exactly what Brian needed to save his life after his own kidneys started to fail.

"I knew it had to be ordained by the Lord. I mean if anyone knows anything, they know how he set it up cause we are not even the same blood type. But he made it work," he said.

"Just knowing that we are going to be together a lot longer, God willing, a lot longer," Carmelia McNeil said.

After the transplant surgery, the couple is doing just fine. They are expected to make a full recovery.
