Obamacare 'Data Hub' Triggers ID Theft Concerns

Ad Feedback

A key security function in Obamacare is months behind schedule even though the health care law kicks in in less than two months.

When Americans begin enrolling in health insurance exchanges on Oct. 1, their identity, income, and other sensitive information will be funneled through a federal "data hub."

Reuters reports the safety of this technology has not been tested properly because of many missed deadlines.

Tests to certify the security of the system have been pushed back from Sept. 4 to Sept. 30, just one day before enrollment begins.

An unsafe system could open many to fraud and identity theft.
