The study from the University of California at San Francisco found that a plant-based diet heavy on vegetables along with the other changes could actually affect telomeres.

Telomeres are parts of the chromosomes that affect how cells age.

Dr. Dean Ornish headed up the study and said it's not the fountain of youth but it's a step in the right direction.
