Eight former Drug Enforcement Administration chiefs are calling on the White House to sue Colorado and Washington over their legalization of recreational marijuana use.
The former DEA leaders say the federal government is not moving fast enough to reverse the move. Marijuana is still illegal under federal law.
But one of the former DEA leaders, Peter Bensinger, said not acting will create "a domino effect" in which other states follow Colorado and Washington's lead.
"This is a no-brainer," he said. "It is outrageous that a lawsuit hasn't been filed in federal court yet."
